Last week, Rep. Ryan A. Costello (PA) sponsored a bill to extend the temporary expansion of the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC), ensure that CAVC Judges may enroll in the Federal Employee Group Life Insurance program, and other purposes.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims Reform Act (H.R. 1067) was introduced to the House on February 25, 2015, and has been referred to the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs in addition to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Major sections of H.R. 1067 address extending temporary expansion of the CAVC; the recall of retired CAVC Judges; enrollment in the life insurance program; voluntary contributions to enlarge survivors’ annuity, and salaries of the CAVC Judges.
